WordPressの記事を「要約付き」でTwitterに自動的に投稿

このブログ上で新規に作成したポスト記事は、プラグインWordTwitにより自動的にTweetされる。今回、この機能を拡張し、Tweetされる項目に本文の「要約」(最初の部分)を付け加えられるようにした。

WordTwitの改良ということではなく、新規に自前のツールを作成した。これまで使用していたプラグインWordTwitは、本ブログから取り除き、この新規作成ツールで置き換えた。

この機能を実現するために作成したphpソースをメモしておいた。

WordTwitの使用経験と新規ツール作成の意図:
冒頭で述べたように、本ブログではプラグインWordTwitを活用し、WordPress上で作成したポスト記事を、Twitter上に自動的に投稿していた。

Twitterには最大で140字までの情報をTweetできるが、WordTwitでTwitter上に投稿されるのは、ポストのタイトルとURL(permalink)の2項目のみで物足りなさを感じるものであった。

ポスト本文の「要約」(あるいは本文の最初部分)も、タイトルとURLに加えてTweetできればと考えた。当然のことながら、文字数140字という制限はあるものの、本文の内容についてもTweetできれば有用であると考えた。

機能実装の手続き
以下に、新機能実装のためのphpソースファイル、ディレクトリ構成についてメモしておく。ここで、twiiteroauth.php、OAuth.phpについては、プラグイン WordTwit に提供されたものを一部修正を加えて、採録している。
